Photonic integrated circuit (PIC) technology powers up wide applications from communication and computing to sensing and precision metrology. In this talk, Prof Yuqing Jiao will present his vision on the future scaling of the photonic integrated circuit (PIC) technology, especially in speed, energy efficiency and integration density. He will introduce the InP-based nanophotonics developed at TU Eindhoven, enabling 3D integration of InP and Si technologies. He will showcase how this next-gen PIC technology can empower AI and quantum applications, as well as enable a convergence of photonics and electronics into a single chip technology.
